I’m going to offer a loving treatment today.
I really don’t see any other way forward right now.
Hatred is only causing us as a human race to plunge deeper into an abyss that offers no reprieve, respect for human life, or possibility of waking up from this trance of separation.
Separation ultimately from our ability to love.
And I’m not being trite about this. “Love” can be passed around as a word or a phrase, but what I am speaking about today is self love, specifically the ability to love ALL of you. And this is LIFE work. It is not something that comes from a quick course, or from a retreat.
It’s a practice.
The reason this is the only path forward, is when you can bring love and compassion to all of yourself, you will then bring that same acceptance to the world around you.
And because there is this basic view, then you won’t feel the need to destroy or oppress others. You won’t feel a need to take lives, to control people, or judge and shame them because they are different than you.
And you won’t feel the need to go into a grocery store and open fire on people who you believe are a threat to your existence.
What happened in Buffalo, NY last Sunday is another in a long line of tragedies, and is familiar. It’s been with us for a long time, this disassociation with love.
This disassociation with our bodies, and with any kind of deeper trust in an unconditional power.
That power is love, and it begins with YOU.
There’s no other point of origin.
So, today, I am offering a “treatment” for your heart, which I imagine has closed up so much, especially in the last two years. I know mine has, and it has been a daily practice to remind myself of my ability to love, first myself, and then people around me that I disagree with, that enrage me, and create unimaginable harm.
And I can think of no better teacher, than Louise Hay to lead us.
If you are not familiar with her, she was a legendary spiritual teacher, with more than 50 million books in print worldwide. For over 30 years, she helped people discover their full potential for personal growth, and self-healing.
I’m sharing her closing mediation from her most famous book, Heal Your Body. And I’m doing this because our ability to love resides in our BODY.
I firmly believe we have to heal our bodies FIRST in order to end suffering.
So, find yourself a comfortable seat. Turn off all distractions and take a minute for this Loving Treatment. Read it out loud if that is helpful, the vibration of your voice will break up stuck energy and allow things to flow.
Louise starts by saying,
“This meditation is helpful to read daily, as it creates a healthy consciousness and, therefore, a healthy body.”
DEEP AT THE CENTER OF MY BEING, there is an infinite well of love. I now allow this love to flow to the surface. It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my consciousness, my very being, and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied. The more love I use and give, the more I have to give, the supply is endless. The use of love make ME FEEL GOOD. It is an expression of my inner joy. I love myself, therefore, I provide a comfortable home for myself, one that fills all my needs and is a pleasure to be in. I fill the rooms with the vibration of love so that all who enter, myself included, will feel this love and be nourished by it.
I love myself, therefore, I work at a job that I truly enjoy doing, one that uses my creative talents and abilities, working with and for people whom I love and who love me, and earning a good income. I love myself, therefore, I behave and think in a loving way to all people, for I know that that which I give out returns to me multiplied. I only attract loving people in my world, for they are a mirror of what I am. I love myself, therefore, I live totally in the now, experiencing each moment as good, and knowing that my future is bright, joyous, and secure. I am a beloved child of the universe, and the universe lovingly takes care of me now and forever more.
And so it is.
I love you.
Take a moment and just FEEL.
FEEL any sensations.
FEEL any pain, strong emotions, or relief.
And if you need to journal, take a moment to process.
This may be the most courageous work you do. It takes great courage in this divided world to have a practice of love and treat your pain with love.
To treat your BODY and HEAL your body with love.
So, thank you for being here with me today.
Thank you for your presence.
And thank you for your courage.
